Hope Rising

For every ONE promise of Your first coming

There are EIGHT promises of Your second

A bold declaration of Hope

*****

The first Advent, humble and quiet

A star in the darkness

A baby curled up in human frailty

A whisper in the silent night

Emmanuel, God with us

God made flesh, dwelling among us

*****

This time between Advents; between Comings

A waiting, between two Great Hopes

Knowing

The second Advent puts all to right

*****

Star of David will banish the darkness

The sun, eclipsed by The Son

Emmanuel, God among us, becomes Emmanuel, God come for us

God dwelling with man, becomes

Heaven come down so man can dwell with God

*****

And so, with an eye on the distant sky

Hope Rises

Maranatha – Our Lord Comes!

Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.

He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,

and God Himself will be with them as their God.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,

and death shall be no more,

neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore,

for the former things have passed away.

Revelation 21:3,4

  1. Oh, Arlene, how wonderful to enjoy with you the growth, the spiritual insight, as you fix your eyes upon Jesus, and proclaim His life changing power! I have so enjoyed the last many posts you have made – yes, we are broken, frail, and accident prone! But praise God, He is able and willing to deliver us from our human limitations, to see us as His dearly loved children, made righteous by His Son! It inspires me to read your thoughts as you reflect on your journey through this life :). May God bless your family this Christmas season!

    1. Thank you, Lenora! Your walk through the painful unknown, holding on to His promises in faith, is inspiration to me.
Blessings of Emmanuel to you and your family this Christmas and always!
